Ok, last post about the hurricane, I promise.
If you ask Delilah, she’d ask for a hurricane EVERY day!! She got to come inside out of the weather, no muzzle, and eat lots of yummy hay. She got so excited when I gave it to her. She couldn’t eat it fast enough!
Right smack in the middle of Hurricane Sandy, this little guy made an appearance in my pantry. But the REAL news is that Shawn has actually started taking a page out of MY book and spared this guy’s life to set him free outside (yes, in the middle of a hurricane, but the point IS that he got to live.) So Shawn created a make-shift mouse trap and set him free outside. (Don’t tell Shawn, but he’s probably back inside somewhere by now.) 🙂
After Hurricane Sandy literally BLEW thru NJ on Monday night, I went to inspect the property the next morning. Happily, this is the extent of the damage we suffered along with some tree debris on the yard. But there are tons of people without power and that have some substantial damage. It’ll be awhile before we put this one behind us!!!
Every horse farm owners worst fear is to have a sick horse during a bad storm. Due to Hurricane Sandy and her winds/rain etc., the horses spent much of the day yesterday in the barn. By dinnertime Centanni colic’d so we needed a vet. Fortunately for us, the vet lives 2 doors down!!! Here’s Centanni getting some water and mineral oil tubed into her belly to make her feel better. She’s fine now!!!
As everyone knows, we’re all hunkered down here in NJ waiting until Hurricane Sandy has had her fun. Anyone wanna place bets on whether or not I lose this tree??!?!??! I can tell you as of 5pm today it’s swaying in the wind!!!!
We usually highlight Chevy on LOTF when he’s working some event. THIS time I’m showing him in his stall relaxing with his hay. Ahhhhhh….he loves dinnertime!!!
