Harvest Fest & Community Day!

Saturday was a full day of pony gigs for us. We had Harvest Fest at Sergeantsville Farmer’s Market in the morning and then we had Community Day all afternoon. Here’s one little guy getting his first pony ride at Community Day. Thanks to Jen, Kate, Jim and Barb who made it possible for Keona Farm to be in 2 places at once this weekend!

Yum!!

The kids at the Farmer’s Market LOVE to feed Chevy treats. So much so, that they’ve started to bring them specifically for him. Chevy REALLY appreciates that!!! He was certainly spoiled last weekend!!

Vet visit

(Apologies for the quality of today’s picture, but it’s awfully hard to get a picture while both subjects are moving and you are trying to hold a pony as still as possible.) The vet came yesterday as part of his annual visit to do horses’ shots and float (file) some teeth. Horses teeth keep growing and get so sharp that they can’t eat if they go unkept. So here’s Chevy getting his teeth filed to keep them from getting to long and sharp. Not his favorite thing as you can imagine. 🙁

Mani-pedi for horses

Last night the horses all had their manicures. Not nearly as glamorous as people, but it must be done! Here’s Chevy getting his turn. The trimmings make great dog treats so Maverick LOVES it when the farrier comes to the farm!!! YUM!
