Jack was invited to be part of a wedding proposal this weekend!! Jack and his old friend Shawn (a horse) took Hannah and Brandon for a trail ride so Brandon could propose to Hannah!! (she said yes!) Congratulations to the happy couple!!
Delilah was apparently here and then left all her hair behind!!! Poor girl is shedding LIKE CRAZY!!!!

Now that the horses are shedding, they love to lay down and scratch all the hair off of them. There are a bunch of white patches all over the field where Delilah scratched her back!! 🙂
While I was in the feedstore it struck me that all the men were gathered around the bins to see all baby chicks. I cracked myself up when I told one of the owners “it’s a bunch of guys looking at a bunch of chicks!” LOL!!! Get it???? (knee-slapper)
Well as you can see, there really IS something to that phrase “the grass is always greener”. Centanni can tell you first hand! She’s pretty limber for an old lady!
It’s nesting season for our feathered friends and they are so aggressive right now. The barn is all a-flurry with very loud birds. Since we cater to all living things on the farm, we have now donated nesting material and some eats to the cause. Hopefully they will lighten up a little! Geez!!
Saturday was more fence repair (it never ends!). With John’s help we got three posts replaced! Thanks John!!
The horses are so happy not to have to wear their blankets now!! Every one of them laid down to roll in the dirt yesterday! There’s not a clean horse/pony on the farm right now!
So now that I can actually SEE when I bring the horses in, I noticed I’ve been wearing a well worn path the length of the farm. That got me thinking about how many trips a day it takes to make a path like this. The answer is at least 16 per day!!!!!!! For all you who are now saying “no way”, here’s how it breaks out in round trips: take Chevy’s hay out and open gates (2); take Patty out (2); take Delilah out (2); take Chevy out (2); bring Chevy in (2); bring Delilah in (2); bring Patty in (2), close gates for the night(2). Count em! 16. Why join a gym!?!?!?
