After I groomed Chevy last night I could finally see his summer coat!! You can see how shiny his shoulder is compared to the rest of him. He’s got a LOT more shedding to do, but we’re almost there!!

A lesson on grass…
A common question I get is: Do I ever have to mow the fields?
Answer: Yes. Horses will eat certain kinds of grass, but not all. Its actually “economical” to put horses and cows out together cause cows will eat grasses that horses won’t.
2013 Pony Season has begun!
Jack was invited to a Kentucky Derby Party to kick off our 2013 pony ride season. Well, we gave plenty of pony rides to everyone at the party…including a 6 year-old’s dolly!

After 6 months of recuperating from Lymes Disease, Cartwright is FINALLY able to handle going out on full turn out!! He’s absolutely LOVING life now!! <phew!>
Storybook Moon…
Ok, the picture doesn’t do it justice, but the moon was SOOOO big and orange last night. It looked fake, but it was Beautiful!
At last count…
Ok, yet ANOTHER load. This brings us to 165 bales. Now that the grass is coming in I think this might actually do it (other than the hay Chevy will need for the summer.) But once this load is gone I can replace the roof on the shed! Woo-hoo!!!
Naked pony??
Anyone seen Chevy?? He used to wear all this hair!!! Actually, he’ll shed well into June. He’s got a TON of hair to lose!

Ok, it’s not enough that I give these rodents a place to live?? Do they HAVE to destroy my belongings in order to make a nest?? I give them plenty of tissues and horse hair. Do they HAVE to tear apart my expensive cooler too???? UGH!!!!! Mom hit the high road when she saw me, but the babies didn’t. Here’s one of the babies not sure what to do….
