Worst Fear

Every horse farm owners worst fear is to have a sick horse during a bad storm. Due to Hurricane Sandy and her winds/rain etc., the horses spent much of the day yesterday in the barn. By dinnertime Centanni colic’d so we needed a vet. Fortunately for us, the vet lives 2 doors down!!! Here’s Centanni getting some water and mineral oil tubed into her belly to make her feel better. She’s fine now!!!

By request…

Apparently some people are missing Centanni on LOTF lately, so here she is!! This morning just before I turned her loose, she was itchin to run up the hill to go get her grass!!

Turnout

Many of you have never been very close to a horse that’s moving at a pretty fast clip, so I thought I’d try to capture what it looks/feels like when the horses go trotting or galloping past me when I turn them out. First I turn Centanni out and Jack follows right behind. You can’t feel the thundering hoof beats, but I think you get the mindset….Ahhhhh!! FREEDOM!!

Lovebirds

Now that Delilah has come to live with us, we needed all 6 stalls in the barn, so Centanni gave up her double wide condo and Jack moved in next door! So the two loves birds are right next to each other. I think they like these living arrangements!!
