Usually when I put Chevy in the trailer to go to the market, he just goes right for his hay. And he’s so tiny you can’t really see him in the trailer unless you look for him. But this time he stuck his head out of the trailer looking all adorable!!!
Every week we try to make it to the local Farmer’s Market to give pony rides and every week everyone waits for the truck with the corn to get there. This week, they had so much produce they couldn’t fit it all into the bed of the truck so they carried on top of the cab. YES….they drove to the market with the buckets of veggies on the cab! Talk about SMALL TOWN!!!!
By the time I went outside this morning to get the horses, it was pouring. (Yay!) They really don’t seem to mind the break from the heat, but Centanni couldn’t figure out what I was doing trying to take her picture rather than letting her in!!!
It’s just a coincidence that the smallest (Chevy) on the farm, lives next door to the biggest (Leo) on the farm. The contrast is pretty remarkable. So…here’s big vs. small on my farm!!!
I’ve spent the last 4 days on the couch fighting a bad cold. Maverick kept me company the ENTIRE time and would NOT leave my side. When I’d wake up, this is what I’d see. He’s the best nurse ever!! That’s MY BOY!!!!
We haven’t seen hide nor hair of Patty lately so I decided to take HIS picture. Here he is on his way in for breakfast. He’ll spend the rest of the day sleeping in his stall with his fan blowing on him. Lucky horse!
Sometimes it just feels good to get down in the dirt and roll! Horses roll primarily for two reasons: 1) to scratch; 2) get the flies and the bugs off of them. Here’s Delilah gettin down in the dirt! ahhhhh……
With the garden in full swing now, I found this guy eating my tomato plants. It’s called a Tomato Hornworm. I can never tell the head from the tail, but apparently the part right by my fingers is the head. Either way, he’s outta here!!!!
Maverick’s best friends Alex and Sam stayed with us this past weekend. It was 100 degrees in NJ on Saturday so the dogs were drinking every chance they got. Here’s Maverick’s best friend Sam drinking the water as I filled it for the horses.
A big Keona Farm welcome to Leo and Alyssa!!! Leo is our latest resident as of Saturday afternoon. He’s a nice, strapping big boy! Here are pix of him the first time he’s turned out seeing the farm. Although the tail was raised like a flag pole, he settled in quickly and made friends with everyone. He LOVES Chevy!
