uh, hello???

Ok, lots to cover on LOTF today!! We’re dog sitting little Toula (who weighs all of 4 whopping pounds) and she is an ABSOLUTE pip!!! This morning I took her out and she met a new friend. This little doe decided she wanted to play so she popped out of the field and kept coming closer and closer to Toula. Toula froze and the doe just kept getting closer. Finally Toula spoke up first and barked and the deer ran back into the field. Minutes later it bounced back out of the field into the yard to play with Toula again. SOOOOOOO CUTE!

THAT was close!

I literally almost stepped on this little guy when I was walking into the barn last night. He’s got all his feathers but he can’t quite fly yet so I put him in the hay cart in the barn until he feels more confident and to keep him safe. I’m hoping mommy will continue to feed him til he can scrounge up his own grub!

See ya!!

With the garden in full swing now, I found this guy eating my tomato plants. It’s called a Tomato Hornworm. I can never tell the head from the tail, but apparently the part right by my fingers is the head. Either way, he’s outta here!!!!

My little Buddy

The barn swallows are all out hunting for food in full force. This guy just kept watching me work outside. I’m naming him Harvey. (not like I’d ever recognize him again!)

Squirrel!!!!

Just as I took Mav out for a bio break, a squirrel ran across the yard and up a tree. With all the fox etc, we rarely see a squirrel so it was a complete novelty to Mav. He just can’t figure out how to get his new friend to come back down to play!

Like a Fox

Red FoxGood morning Farmers! (ok, that’s hokey)

I got lucky!!! Came home to find this little guy/gal busy in the field next door!! I caught him/her in the act of making his/her den. I think the kits (pups) aren’t far behind!

She’s/He’s beautiful, huh??

TGIF!!!
