On the farm it’s all about the residents that live here! We have more than 35 years of experience with horses and the horses’ care is of paramount importance to us. We work tirelessly to maintain a safe and comfortable home for all of our four-legged friends.
Our farm is ideally situated for retired horses who need a safe place to land to live out the remainder of their life. Keona Farm is committed to offering an AFFORDABLE boarding choice so owners can do the right thing with their “high mileage” horses. Our residents enjoy a nice, quiet setting with rolling pastures, safe fencing, and ample visibility of the entire farm so horses are continually socialized. The horses are properly cared for in a very laid back atmosphere where they can just relax and enjoy themselves among their friends because they’ve earned and deserve it!
If you’re looking for horse boarding in New Jersey, this is one of the most beautiful areas in the state. Hunterdon County, NJ is known as being “horse country” and Keona Farm is settled in the southern part of the county close to the Mercer County border. We know that your horse will love living on our farm!
We offer:
- Wide center aisle Morton Barn
- 6-10×12 matted stalls with grilled windows and clean shavings
- Heated outdoor waters in the winter
- Daily turnout on quality pastures
- Matted washstall with hot and cold water
- 12×20 bedded Run-in shed with southern exposure
- 10 x 12 Tackroom/feedroom
- 3 plank wooden fence along with braided rope electric fence
- 60 ft. round pen
- 40×150′ dry lot
We provide optimum care starting with a tailored feed program. Horses are fed premium hay and grain according to their individual needs twice a day. They have access to quality pasture all day during the spring, fall and winter and all night during the summer. For the safety of all of our residents, all horses on the property are required to be up-to-date on worming and vaccinations, no exceptions! Owners are free to choose their own vet and farrier, or use ours. We are only minutes from one of NJ’s largest Equine Emergency clinics.
Stalls are cleaned and all buckets are pulled and cleaned at least once a day. Stalls are bedded with shavings and a pesticide-free fly control program is employed during the fly season. During the summer months while the horses are inside during the day, each has a box fan on their stall to help keep them cool.
